inascii.com ("we", "the site") provides free browser-based tools for generating ASCII art from text and images. This page explains what data is and isn't collected when you use the site.

How the tools work

The text-to-ASCII and image-to-ASCII generators run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Text you type and images you upload are processed locally on your device using the HTML canvas and are never transmitted to, or stored on, any server operated by this site. Closing the tab discards everything.

Copy link on the image tool puts the art itself into the link, after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part of a link to any server, so the art reaches only the people you give the link to.

Cookies and advertising

This site may display advertisements served by third-party ad networks, such as Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or generally at aboutads.info.

Analytics

inascii.com has no server-side application, no account system, and no analytics beacons. We do not run a traffic analytics product, we do not set a first-party cookie, and we keep no log of what you generate. The only third-party requests a page makes are the advertising requests described above. The site does save one thing on your device: your light or dark theme choice, in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device, it is never transmitted, and clearing this site's data removes it.
